Earlier this year, I recorded a song at KV’s Studio for my Momma, who is in Hospice with late stage dementia, in preparation for when the time comes that THE LORD calls her Home. It was a pleasant experience recording the song, and Kirby’s knowledge, skills and professionalism as an engineer made the whole process seamless, and fun! I am 100% pleased and satisfied with the final outcome of the recording, and I highly recommend Kirby @ KV’s Studio to aspiring vocalists and to anyone wishing to professionally record and produce their music.

I absolutely LOVED recording in KV’s Studio! One of the things I liked most upon arrival was the organization and availability of professional equipment to use while recording. It was great not having to carry a ton of gear to a session! And the finished product was nothing short of amazing! I have been a fan of Kirby’s for a while. So when I heard he was recording artists, I was eager to get in the studio with him. The session exceeded my expectations. I wanted to do a cover of Rod Stewart / Jeff Beck’s version of ” People Get Ready” (it will be available on streaming platforms this Fall) I was so happy with the arrangement and vocal sound. Kirby also added some of his world-class guitar chops on the track. I would recommend KV Studios to any of my musical friends. In September I was visiting my buddy Kirby Velarde in Littleton. I currently live in Murfreesboro Tenn. He has put together an outstanding pro studio. Calling it KV”s Studio. Kirby has been around music, and studios for years. He has done a lot of recording and production.
Kirby is also someone who I would consider a ‘world class’ guitar player. He is popular with many smooth Jazz artists world wide. Kirby’s timing, finesse, technique and style are exceptional. And I believe him to be unmatched as an electric player/session player in Colorado. He also plays very good drums and bass; even finding his way around a keyboard. That being said, he has always had incredible creativity, and an amazing ear. Perfect for the studio, and overall recording sessions.
While I was looking around at his studio-(which was very impressive), He asked me: “So Loren, what are you going to record dude?”
“Me? Nothing…I have nothing ready.”
“Too bad…We are recording.”
He had me play a few songs that I was racking my brain to remember. “That one. Let’s do that one.” I had not played that song since the nineties. Couldn’t remember the words, and it had always needed a bridge. He told me to write a bridge real quick, and he would get everything set up.
Within 20 hours, Kirby took my not so pro song, and made it sound extremely professional. My playing and singing were a little shaky; but in the end, it turned out wonderful. It was worth every penny. Needless to say, I am going to record with KV’s Studio again!
